Baojun Yueye PLUS: A New Direction of Local Synergy
If the Celestial L7 demonstrated General Motors' technological confidence in entering the new era of intelligent and electric vehicles, then the appearance of Baojun Yueye PLUS at the China International Import Expo further reveals another growth path for General Motors in the Chinese market - a high degree of synergy with its local joint venture partners.

In fact, the Baojun brand has participated in the CIIE before, but this is the first time it has taken the prime position on the General Motors booth. This adjustment clearly shows the increase in its strategic weight, reflecting the further advancement of the cooperative relationship between General Motors and its local joint ventures: not only in terms of equity, but also in full-chain collaboration from product design, manufacturing to market strategy.
As General Motors stated, "The two joint ventures with SAIC Group are the core for General Motors to maintain its competitiveness in China and will continue to drive the deepening of local innovation."
And Baojun Yueye PLUS is the concrete result of this logic.

From the product perspective, Baojun Yueye PLUS adopts the popular "boxy" design language, positioning itself as a pure electric compact SUV. With a length of nearly 4 meters and offering three battery ranges of 301 km, 401 km, and 501 km, it combines coolness with practicality, meeting both urban commuting needs and weekend outings, light outdoor activities, and other lifestyle scenarios. The corresponding price range is 72,800 to 100,800 yuan. Compared with other competitors that focus on a family style, it has a distinct differentiation label.
It can be seen that whether in terms of product power or price range, Baojun Yueye PLUS precisely covers the needs of the target group, and thus has gradually gained a foothold in the market. According to third-party platform data, as of October, its monthly sales have climbed to 3,677 units, ranking fifth among compact SUVs.
What is more strategically significant is that Baojun Yueye PLUS is not just a model for the Chinese market. It is exported overseas as the Chevrolet Spark EUV, becoming a truly global vehicle.

In fact, this is not the first time the Baojun brand has attempted this. The Baojun 530 was sold as the Chevrolet Captiva, with a price close to 200,000 yuan, and its cumulative export volume reached 410,000 units, setting a benchmark for joint venture automakers' overseas expansion.
Currently, the overseas performance of Baojun Yueye PLUS is constantly being updated: as of August 2025, its cumulative exports have reached 6,951 units, making it the first domestically produced pure electric box-shaped vehicle to be exported globally. Its price in the United Arab Emirates even reaches approximately 160,000 yuan, almost double that in China.
It can be said that the debut of Baojun Yueye PLUS is not only a complement to General Motors' product lineup in China but also an important fulcrum of its global strategy.
