In October, the national retail sales of passenger vehicles in China reached 2.242 million units, remaining largely unchanged from September. Domestic retail sales of fuel vehicles decreased by 10% year-on-year in October, while those of pure electric vehicles increased by 20%, extended-range vehicles dropped by 7.7%, and plug-in hybrid vehicles declined by 10.3%. The domestic retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in October was 57.2%. Additionally, Chinese brands sold 1.55 million units in October, up 4% year-on-year, while joint venture brands sold 510,000 units, down 10% year-on-year. In terms of the ranking of models in specific segments, there were significant changes compared to September. Let's take a look at which models won in each segment in October.

The top ten models in the sedan sales chart in October were still mainly economical family cars, with six being new energy vehicles. The market for entry-level models under 100,000 yuan was completely dominated by pure electric vehicles, and the listed fuel vehicles were all classic models.

Models like the Lavida and Sagitar, although their sales growth was not significant, saw their rankings rise due to the decline in sales of other models. Overall, the sales of fuel vehicles in the top ten were relatively stable, while the sales of some new energy vehicles declined to some extent.

The Wuling Hongguang MINIEV took the top spot with 61,506 units sold in October, an increase of nearly 10,000 units compared to September, standing out among the top ten. The Hongguang MINIEV currently offers a variety of models including the classic version, the third-generation model, GAMEBOY, convertible, and four-door versions. The new four-door version launched this year is larger in size and has better space utility. In November, a model with a CLTC range of 301 km was introduced, a significant improvement over the previous range of 205 km, and the price is only 55,800 yuan. The diverse and personalized products offer users more choices.

The Geely Emgrand L ranked second with 44,239 units sold. In October, the new Emgrand L was launched, featuring standard NIO Times battery cells, an 11-in-1 electric drive system, rear-wheel drive, multi-link independent suspension, a 70-liter front trunk, and Flyme Auto infotainment system. The new STAR Line exclusive sport package was also introduced, enhancing its sporty attributes.

The BYD Qin PLUS ranked third with 35,338 units sold. In September, a new model was launched, and the entry-level model was temporarily priced at 69,800 yuan, setting a new benchmark for entry-level compact new energy vehicles. Additionally, the new model enhanced its product configuration, making it a highly cost-effective three-box car in its class.
