November MPV sales: Wuling Starlight 730 ranks fourth
Recently, the China Passenger Car Association (cpcaauto.com) released the November 2025 auto (passenger car) sales (retail) data:
The overall auto market sales volume was 2.225 million units, among which the total MPV sales volume was 86,000 units, a year-on-year decrease of 16.8% and a month-on-month increase of 1.0%. It was the only category among SUVs, sedans, and MPVs to show a month-on-month growth, due to the fact that only 85,000 MPVs were sold in October, a low enough base.
In terms of specific model sales, Buick GL8 and Denza D9, once the kings of the MPV market, have seen one drop to the third place and the other's ranking has been declining for four consecutive months, with Denza D9 only ranking seventh in November.
10. GAC Trumpchi E8
November sales: 1,924 units
GAC Trumpchi E8 has been the last in the top ten MPV sales list for five consecutive months, but the threshold for the top ten has dropped from 3,000 units to 2,000 units, and then to 1,924 units.
9. XPeng X9
November sales: 2,260 units
XPeng X9 finally returned to the top ten list, ranking ninth, with 2,260 units sold in November.
In addition, XPeng launched the range-extended version of X9 before the Guangzhou Auto Show in November. The two configurations are priced at 309,800 - 329,800 yuan, 50,000 yuan cheaper than the pure electric version.
Who would have thought that after the Ideal L6 in April 2024, Ideal has not launched any new range-extended models.
8. GAC Trumpchi M8
November sales: 3,824 units
Last month, we predicted that after the launch of Wuling Starlight 730, GAC Trumpchi would only occupy the last three places. In November, GAC Trumpchi M8's ranking indeed dropped by one place to the eighth position on the list, while Trumpchi M6 was pushed out of the top ten by XPeng X9.
However, in terms of sales, Trumpchi M8's November sales were only 28 units less than in October. It can be said that although the overall MPV market sales volume is only 80,000 to 100,000 units per month, the competition is by no means easy.
7. Denza D9
November sales: 4,141 units
Denza D9, which once toppled Buick GL8 from its throne, is no longer as glorious as before. Its ranking has been declining for four consecutive months since July, and it only ranked seventh in November, with sales falling below 5,000 units to "only" 4,141 units.
6. FAW Toyota Granvia
November sales: 5,781 units
FAW Toyota Granvia returned to the top five in October due to the decline in Denza D9's sales, but what came in fifth must go back out. In November, it dropped to the sixth place with 5,781 units sold.
5. GAC Toyota Sienna
November sales: 6,701 units
The sister model of Granvia, GAC Toyota Sienna, dropped even more, falling from the third place in October to the fifth place in November, with 6,701 units sold.
4. SAIC-GM-Wuling Starlight 730
November sales: 8,107 units
SAIC-GM-Wuling Starlight 730, in its second month on the market, surpassed Denza D9 and GAC Toyota Sienna to rank fourth, with sales reaching 8,107 units (ICE: 3,017 units, PHEV: 3,169 units, EV: 1,921 units).
Starlight 730 is also the cheapest model in the top ten list, with a starting price of only 73,000 yuan, 106,800 yuan cheaper than the second cheapest GAC Trumpchi M8.
3. SAIC-GM Buick GL8
November sales: 8,160 units In October, the Buick GL8 was dethroned from the top spot, and in November, it was knocked off the second place as well, becoming the third best-selling MPV with 8,160 units sold (3,720 ICE and 4,440 PHEV), a decrease of over 1,200 units compared to October.
2. Dreamer by VOYAH
November sales： 9，027 units
The Dreamer by岚图， which had been firmly in fourth place， finally claimed the second spot in MPV sales in November， with sales reaching 9，027 units (8，704 PHEV and 323 EV)， an increase of over 2，300 units compared to October， second only to Wuling Star 730 in terms of growth.
1. WEY Mountain
November sales： 10，416 units
After overtaking the Buick GL8 to become the top-selling MPV in October， the WEY Mountain not only retained the top spot in November but also surpassed 10，000 units sold， reaching 10，416 units.
The model that was in the top ten in October but failed to make the list in November was the GAC Trumpchi M6， with sales of 1，712 units in November.
