Wuling Starlight 730 Configuration Recommendations: These two configurations should be given priority. Choosing the wrong one will surely make you regret it!
If you don't want to regret, when buying the Wuling Starlight 730, which configuration should you give priority to? This article will give you a clear answer.

The positioning of the Starlight 730 is more like an entry-level family MPV, and it can also carry some goods occasionally. It's somewhat similar to the previously launched Wuling Kaijie, but it's larger and more like an MPV because it has sliding doors, while the Kaijie still has normal swing doors.
Given the positioning of the Wuling Starlight 730, I think the manual transmission version is completely not worth getting. For vehicles like the Wuling Hongguang that are used for making a living, getting a manual transmission is fine. But for a vehicle like the Starlight 730, comfort while driving and sitting is more important.

The specific configuration of the manual transmission version is shown in the picture. It has 16-inch steel wheels, a mechanical handbrake, LED headlamps with a delayed-off function, all seats are made of fabric and are manually adjustable, there is no central control screen, only a 3.5-inch combination LCD instrument panel, it has a reversing radar, and there are two speakers and two airbags throughout the vehicle.
It's a pure tool vehicle configuration, but at a price of 70,000 yuan, it's not low. The key is that the rear seats cannot be completely hidden under the floor, and its loading capacity is even worse than that of the Wuling Hongguang.

So if you want to buy it for home use, you should at least start looking at the 1.5T automatic elite model. The price after subsidy is about 9,000 yuan more than the manual transmission version. It has a 1.5T engine with 177 horsepower and 290 N·m of torque, mated with a CVT transmission. The official WLTC fuel consumption is 7.49 liters per 100 kilometers.

In terms of configuration, it adds smart remote key, keyless entry and push-button start compared to the manual transmission version. The steering wheel and seats are made of imitation leather, the driver's seat has electric adjustment, the front row has a center console and wireless phone charging function, the vanity mirrors have lighting, the mechanical handbrake is replaced with an electronic handbrake, and it also has cruise control, ESP, heated exterior mirrors, rear wipers and other functions. The central control has a 12.8-inch screen, 360-degree panoramic view and transparent chassis functions. The number of airbags increases from two to four, the number of speakers increases to six, and the tire and wheel size is upgraded from 16 inches to 17 inches.

These configurations are all very basic functions, but they are numerous and highly practical. Five or six thousand yuan is definitely worth it. That is to say, upgrading from manual to automatic transmission only costs three or four thousand yuan. At a price of less than 80,000 yuan after subsidy, there are almost no other choices for this entry-level MPV at the same price.
Then, the plug-in hybrid version of the Starlight 730 is 20,000 yuan more expensive. The main reason is the powertrain, which has been changed to a 1.5L single-speed hybrid system, equipped with a 20.5 kWh Ruipu Sek battery, with a WLTC pure electric range of 100 kilometers and a fuel consumption of 5.3 liters when the battery is depleted. In terms of configuration, it is almost the same as the 1.5T elite model. Only the mechanical gearshift is replaced with an electronic gearshift, and a few optional configurations such as wireless phone charging are removed.
The pure electric version is 6,000 yuan more expensive. It has a single-motor front-wheel drive, 136 horsepower, and uses a 60 kWh Jiangsu Zhengli lithium iron phosphate battery, with a pure electric range of 500 kilometers. As mentioned earlier, this version comes with a charging station, while the plug-in hybrid version does not.
In my opinion, if you use it for home and drive less than 10,000 kilometers a year, getting a pure gasoline 1.5T elite model is completely sufficient. It's cheaper and more reliable. At this price, there are no other decent MPVs to choose from. If you drive more in the city, around 20,000 to 30,000 kilometers a year, prioritize the pure electric version. The 100 kilometers of pure electric range of the plug-in hybrid version is not enough. The fuel consumption when the battery is depleted is not much lower than that of the pure gasoline version. The reliability and resale value in the long term are far worse than the pure gasoline version, making it relatively useless.
