More than 20 automakers announced within a month the integration of various AI large models centered on DeepSeek, setting a record for the fastest pace of technological upgrade in the history of China's automotive intelligence. According to data from Auto Home, DeepSeek was first integrated into mid-to-high-end models priced above 300,000 yuan, while models set to launch with DeepSeek integration are mostly priced below 300,000 yuan. It is evident that this feature will quickly penetrate into mid-to-low-end models. If we count all the models that have integrated DeepSeek applications and those that will, the penetration rate of DeepSeek applications will exceed 20%.

Leading brands have an innate advantage in consumer perception. The higher the market position of a brand, the higher the awareness of AI large models among its users, which in turn provides greater impetus at both the brand and product levels. For consumers, the integration of AI large models is still in the early stages of popularization. Only a small number of users have experienced their related functions, and two-thirds of those who have are satisfied.

In terms of functionality, ensuring driving and riding safety is the top expectation for AI large models among users. For example, users hope that AI large models can provide better proactive safety alerts. More than half of the users also hope to enhance the experience of functions closely related to driving and riding through AI large models, such as vehicle fault diagnosis, in-depth answers to car usage knowledge, full-scene adaptive cabin adjustment, and intelligent trip planning. In contrast, the demand for non-vehicle usage functions such as chat and commercial service recommendations is low.

Diversified Experience Upgrade in Intelligent Cockpits
In terms of intelligent cockpits, multimodal interaction is the main direction for experience upgrade. Since 2023, the penetration rate of multimodal interaction has increased rapidly, and by 2025, it has exceeded one fourth. Among models priced above 200,000 yuan, the penetration rate is even higher. In the price range of 300,000 to 500,000 yuan, the penetration rate of multimodal interaction has even exceeded 60%, showing a clear trend of high-end equipment. However, even though an increasing number of vehicles are equipped with multiple interaction methods in addition to touch control, in actual operation, most can still only use a single interaction method. The various interaction forms have not yet been integrated for control and remain independently controlled, falling short of the ideal form of multimodal interaction.

Among the many interaction methods, voice control remains the most important. Against the backdrop of the standardization of voice recognition, other sub-functions under voice interaction are still evolving. First, the number of vehicle control functions that can be realized through voice recognition has become more abundant, with a rapid increase in the proportion of voice recognition for six or more vehicle control functions. Second, the areas capable of voice wake-up recognition have expanded from a single area in the driver's seat to the front double area, and even to the second row with four or five areas, significantly expanding the range of passengers who can use voice recognition.

Other interaction methods show a divergence in penetration rates. Facial recognition has a clear high-end trait and has become mainstream in the 400,000 to 500,000 yuan market first. Although gesture control also leads in penetration rates in the mid-to-high-end market, it has seen a growth stagnation or even decline in 2025 due to technical difficulties and hardware dependence (sensors & computing power).
