Trend Four for the Year
Emerging Configurations Shape Competitive Edge
Amidst the continuous evolution of intelligence, a multitude of emerging configurations and functions have emerged. We have selected configurations with a penetration rate below 30% from the emerging configurations launched in recent years and categorized each configuration based on customer satisfaction using the KANO model. Through testing customer needs, we have found that supercharging technology and highway driving assistance functions are considered as expected attributes by customers. If these features are included, they can significantly enhance customer satisfaction; if not, they may lead to a decline in satisfaction. It is recommended to incorporate them into mainstream configuration plans to meet basic customer expectations. Configurations such as zero-gravity seats and intelligent air suspension are considered as attractive attributes. If included, they can bring a sense of surprise and serve as selling points for product differentiation. However, configurations like scene lighting and facial recognition have weak customer perception. Whether included or not, their impact on customers is limited. It is necessary to carefully evaluate the production-to-investment ratio of such configurations to avoid resource waste.

It is worth mentioning the supercharging technology. We have found that, driven by models such as the AITO M9, Xiaomi SU7 (parameters|inquiry), SU7 Ultra, Zhiji LS6, and Jikai 7X, the high-voltage platform has rapidly increased in the price ranges of above 500,000 yuan and 200,000-300,000 yuan, with a penetration rate exceeding 20%, becoming the most competitive price range for high-voltage platforms. Among the models capable of fast charging, the penetration rate of those with a fast charging time of within 30 minutes has reached 66%. For models priced above 500,000 yuan, the fast charging time has been further reduced, with 24% of the models capable of achieving a fast charge within 15 minutes. It is evident that rapid energy replenishment has become a functional option for high-end vehicles to achieve differentiation.

Trend Five for the Year
Accelerated Commercialization Process of RoboTaxi
China's RoboTaxi industry is currently at the initial stage of large-scale commercial operation, yet widespread losses are a common issue in the industry. Although RoboTaxi is still exploring a sustainable profit model at this stage, the Auto Home Research Institute believes that RoboTaxi still has development prospects.
On the one hand, RoboTaxi can stimulate users' willingness to travel. According to the research institute's survey, if autonomous driving becomes fully popularized in the future, private car travel will not require driving by oneself, and the price of RoboTaxi is significantly reduced (for example, to half of the current online car-hailing price), under such circumstances, the convenience of RoboTaxi will enhance the travel willingness of 82% of users, such as a greater enthusiasm for self-driving tours, or more confidence in allowing the elderly and children in the family to travel alone; it will also promote an increase in users' travel frequency, with nearly half of the users believing that they will increase their travel frequency by 20-50% based on the existing level. On the other hand, nearly half of the users would consider giving up public transportation and switching to RoboTaxi for travel.

After changes in users' travel behavior, it will inevitably have a certain impact on the sales of private cars. Therefore, we specifically asked users: if the cost of RoboTaxi and private cars is comparable, whether they would give up buying a private car. Nearly 80% of users indicated that they would not give up private cars, mainly because they believe that private cars are more flexible to use and belong to private space. Of course, the above data is based on the current judgment that autonomous driving technology is not yet mature and consumer mentality is still conservative. In the long term, we are still concerned about the potential impact of this business model on private car sales. Even as a defensive strategy, automakers should consider early layout of a "dual-track" product plan for RoboTaxi and private cars, and build an integrated operational organization capability.
