The battle of the truly affordable new energy family sedans: Who is better, Changan Qiyuan A06 or Nissan N7?
As the new energy transformation in the automotive industry deepens, everyone has the opportunity to purchase truly affordable family sedans. For instance, Nissan N7, after its launch, saw its sales surpass that of its classic model Teana, thanks to its reasonable pricing. Another popular choice is Changan Qiyuan A06, which offers C-class car features at A-class prices. The key point is that these two models have almost the same positioning and price. So, which one is more worth buying?

Today, we have selected the high-end models of both with similar prices: the top-of-the-line Nissan N7 625Max, with an official price of 149,900 yuan; and the high-end Changan Qiyuan A06 630 Comfort Ultra, with a pre-sale price of 149,900 yuan. Let's compare them to see which one is more appealing:
Comfort Performance
No matter what kind of car it is, comfort and ease of driving are always top priorities. Both are C-class cars, so space is not an issue. The key lies in the seats. Nissan is known as the "sofa factory," and the N7 features AI pressure-sensitive seats with leg rests and 12-point massage. Unfortunately, this feature is only available for the driver. For the driver, it's a real treat, but others can only envy.
Changan Qiyuan A06, on the other hand, offers a more inclusive experience. Both the front and rear seats come with heating and ventilation, and the driver and front passenger seats have 14-point massage. The second-row seats also have electric adjustment. Considering that family cars are used by multiple people, Changan Qiyuan A06 is more considerate.
Of course, comfort is not only about seats but also NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness). Nissan N7 performs decently in this regard, effectively isolating wind noise but less so for road noise, which is partly due to its 19-inch Linglong tires. If it were equipped with a premium brand of noise-reducing tires, the performance would be even better.
Changan Qiyuan A06 also excels in NVH. With a lower drag coefficient of 0.205 compared to Nissan N7's 0.208, it generates less wind noise due to its streamlined design. Additionally, it uses noise-reducing tires, providing better noise control during driving. What's more impressive is its use of smart noise reduction algorithms and smooth start-stop motor control technology, making the sounds of vehicle startup, wipers, seat adjustment, and window operation very quiet. I strongly recommend experiencing it in person.
Chassis and Suspension
To determine whether a car is easy to drive and reassuring, more aspects need to be considered, especially the chassis and suspension. Nissan N7 is front-wheel drive with a front MacPherson and rear multi-link setup, and its soft tuning is aimed at comfort and ease of driving, catering to daily commuting.
Changan Qiyuan A06 is more generous, featuring a front double wishbone and rear multi-link suspension, with all wishbones and control arms made of aluminum. It is also rear-wheel drive, offering superior materials and stronger driving performance. Besides handling urban roads with ease, it also provides more driving pleasure when encountering mountain roads and curves.
Battery Range
For new energy vehicles, battery range is of paramount importance. Nissan N7's popularity is partly due to its long range. This model uses a 73 kWh battery, offering a pure electric range of 625 km and supporting 3C fast charging. Isn't that amazing? However, battery technology is advancing rapidly nowadays. As a latecomer, the Changan Qiyuan A06 uses a 63.18 kWh battery, but it offers a pure electric range of 630 km and supports 6C fast charging. Its battery is equipped with the Golden Shield battery technology, so a smaller battery can achieve a longer range and faster charging. It only takes 9 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, which is better than the 13.8 minutes of the Nissan N7. Additionally, its power consumption is 11.3 kWh per 100 kilometers, which is also better than the Nissan N7 (13.4 kWh), demonstrating the superior three-electricity technology of the Changan Qiyuan A06.
Intelligent configuration
For this part, it's enough to look at the hardware because updates are frequent. If the hardware is strong enough, it can still be used even if the system and functions are updated in the future. Although the Nissan N7 is a joint venture, it uses the 8295 chip. Although its assisted driving is a pure vision solution, it also has end-to-end capabilities and is not inferior to domestic cars.
The Changan Qiyuan A06 uses the MTK8676 chip, with computing power and car infotainment Antutu scores on par with the 8295 chip. Therefore, there is still room for future infotainment upgrades.
Which one is better?
To be honest, being able to choose between these two cars at 150,000 yuan is indeed very tempting. It's hard to find any flaws in them. But if you ask which one is better, it's definitely the younger Changan Qiyuan A06. It has better configuration, hardware, and technical strength. Moreover, the current price of 149,900 yuan is just a pre-sale price. I expect there will be further discounts when it is officially launched, and the cost performance will be further enhanced.
