Three Powertrain Options Available: Wuling Starlight 560 to Launch on January 15
On January 7, we learned from SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) officials that the Starlight 560, an all-new member of the brand’s Starlight family, is scheduled for official launch on January 15. Pre-sales of the vehicle have already kicked off, with four variants offered at a starting pre-order price ranging from RMB 63,800 to RMB 102,800.

A quick recap of its design: the Starlight 560 features a borderless-style front grille that seamlessly integrates with the headlights on both sides. Paired with the silver Wuling logo at the center, it delivers a striking visual appeal. At the rear, the design takes a more conventional approach compared to the front. The sleek, linear taillights, combined with the gunmetal gray bumper guard and the large roof spoiler, add a touch of modern flair to the vehicle.

Inside the cabin, a wrap-around design is adopted, complemented by a full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch floating central control screen, aligning with the mainstream configurations in the current market. The central display is equipped with the Ling OS system, which supports smartphone connectivity features including HiCar, CarLink and DLNA, catering to the diverse in-car needs of users.

In terms of powertrain, the Starlight 560 offers three options for consumers: fuel-powered, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV).
The fuel-powered version is equipped with a 1.5T high-torque engine featuring direct injection technology, which generates a maximum power of 130 kW and a peak torque of 290 N·m. It is mated to either a CVT or a 6-speed manual transmission. According to official data, the manual variant achieves a low WLTC combined fuel consumption of 6.99 L/100km, while the CVT variant records 7.58 L/100km.

The PHEV variant adopts the Lingxi Power 3.0 technology. Its dedicated hybrid engine boasts a thermal efficiency of 43.2%, and when combined with the fourth-generation 10-in-1 high-efficiency hybrid electric drive system, it delivers a CLTC pure electric range of 125 km and an impressive WLTC combined range of up to 1,100 km, with a WLTC fuel consumption of only 5.3 L/100km in charge-depleting mode.

The BEV variant is fitted with an integrated drive motor system with a maximum power of 100 kW and a 60 kWh Shenlian battery pack. It achieves a CLTC pure electric range of 500 km with an official energy consumption of 13.6 kWh/100km. Supporting 2C fast charging, it can charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, and add 200 km of range within 15 minutes.
In addition, the Starlight 560 is built on a purpose-developed chassis, with front and rear independent suspension as standard across all variants. We will continue to follow up and report more details about this new model.
